A co-production between Vancouver’s Brightlight Pictures and partners in Australia and Singapore, stars B.C. actors Calum Worthy and Andrew Jenkins.A large Australian group of actors have also been cast in the sci-fi series Stormworld.
…Filming locations included English Bay in B.C. and the western coast of Australia around Perth.
Worthy, Jenkins and Australian co-star Valentina Barron, filmed the sub’s exteriors on an Australian beach, and sub’s interiors weeks later on a set in Burnaby’s Bridge studios.
…For an international cast as per co-production deals; Vancouver-based producer Steven Hegyes says companies in smaller markets such as Canada and Australia can get access to more money and viewers through such arrangements.
…Stormworld was able to raise a budget of more than $10 million that way, and Brightlight is considering Singapore as the location for an action feature to film this fall.
